Sandy Ludwig came to Goose Creek Studio today to share her poem "Fractured Faith" as an invocation for the Thin Blue Line exhibit. We are honored to have Sandy speak her truth and share it with us all.

The photos intermingled with the poem worked perfectly. That was some impressive editing.

Touching and Heartfelt ! I could visualize every word spoken. The art work also tied in nicely with what you said. Your poem told a beautiful and sad story that we are still facing today.

Beautifully written and beautifully read poem. I loved how the artwork was interjected throughout. Great work and talent! I hope to make it to Bedford to see the exhibit in person. Congratulations to everyone who worked to put this together — it’s remarkable.

When I laughed like i owned laughter. Innocence lost. Poignant and sad, but beautiful.

Fractured Faith by Sandra Ludwig is a hauntingly bittersweet glimpse into the lives of Black people. It eloquently paints a picture of happier childhood memories before her faith was fractured by the harsh realities of being Black in America. Ms. Ludwig’s reading lets you feel the”strong, steady tremor” underlying the daily quest for survival. The poem passionately documents the author’s plea to restore her “Fractured Faith” as well as the fractured faith of the American dream.
